This will be headed by Laura Wilson who has been with WH Marks Sattin for over 5 years and has focused exclusively on front office and consulting assignments to date. The smaller firms are making way for the International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) which are already widely used in large multinational plcs. 2012 is the target to instigate the new accounting framework which will affect thousands of Small and Medium Enterprises across the UK. What we have to consider is how it’s going to affect the SMEs involved and what are going to be the implications for the professional service firms trying to service this change. 1 2 Due to the current economic climate, the extent of cost reduction procedures and damage limitations within firms/companies is such, that huge scrutiny has been placed on the guidelines and allowances on expenses. This subject has also been highlighted by the scandal surrounding the MPs expenses packages, being discussed not just by parliament and the media, but internally within a number of large organisations with the idea of changes in policy in mind. 2008 saw what can only be described as a massive blow for the glamorous world of Corporate Finance.
